The first is called "Life Walks". This is about how our lives can mirror the weather or the many roads, lanes, paths around us. It is also about our last transition wen we pass over.
The second, "The Healing Calm", is what it feels like to give and receive healing.
I've included another poem titled "Without You."
Life’s Walks
Life’s walks down many twisting lanes, the straight, the narrow, the hills, the plains.
Weathering the storms of calamity, we come to still waters for a while, that allows us just to be.
The raindrops lashing at the windowpane, reflects our inner turmoil and the tears not yet cried.
The sun coming through the clouds, warms and reminds us of the hope still inside.
The clear starlit sky, shows us the vastness of the great plan.
The moon benignly nods from above, while we stare in wonder and try to understand.
Huge prisms of light across the sky, rainbow in their many coloured hues, remind us of a promise long ago.
Our soul’s journey mimics these many winding roads, that continue onwards and upward, through the sun and the rain, through the ease and comfort, through the many pains.
And finally, as we think these steep and craggy roads will no longer bear our weight, then before us the path becomes smooth and gentle, affording us the magnificent place, we just walk through that final gate.
June Bentley-MackayThe Healing Calm
A sense of calm and quiet stills my mind.
I stand tall, with you never far behind. An expectant hush fills the room, silencing the noise to heartbeats – yours and mine.
My hands hover, then hold your body and your soul.
I feel the glow move between us on levels far deeper than we know.
In your mind, the busy world slows it’s pace.
Your journey is coloured by your imagination that allows this walk to this special place.
Your breath is steady and sure, your body relaxing, but wanting more.
The colours become more intense, making the yesterdays and the tomorrows fade away.
Your feet tread the new, familiar path, feeling the grass or the sand.
The wind moves gently by, the sun blows a kiss.
Heart and soul rejoice in the majesty of this bliss.
Slowly awareness of this world returns too soon.
Refreshed and ready you awake, leaving this new, remembered place.
The clock returns it’s ticking tock.
The cars again rush by in their continued race.
Stretching out, adjusting to the glare, you arise, worries left behind, but of the new world you remain aware.
June Bentley-Mackay Without You
The thundering waves break on the shore.
I don’t see the rain soaking my skin.
Your face is all I see before me.
I stare blindly at the sea, and demand why, that you are not with me.
The sea boils and rages in complete sympathy.
The white horses gallop in, crying out their spray in their race, my feet disappearing beneath their pace.
A single ray of light breaks from the clouds, shining on me, awakening me from this mesmerizing trance.
I move away and let the waves continue their dance.
